At 35 weeks along, the bands on my underwear are too tight, (including bra), my pants won't stay up either under the belly or pulled way above, my back hurts when I sleep and so do my hips as I can only switch side to side, I can't breathe very well, especially after walking up a simple flight of stairs at home, I have allergies and Eric told me my trusty Benedryl shouldn't be taken in the 3rd trimester, my heals are painfully cracked from a combination of dry Utah air and too much weight, my back hurts for the first few steps anytime I get up to walk, I can't think of anything good to eat...except for cement and dirt (of which I am still in my right mind and NOT indulging in, ...although ice is a good substitute), my ring almost didn't want to come off my finger today- a bit of a panicky feeling, and...I pulled weeds today and was so miserable as I was in a full plie (you know ballet move) so I could reach the ground. Oh and my shoes are all too tight. MAJOR FLUID RETENTION in the ankles, feet, toes, face, fingers, etc. But guess what? Thanks to Julianna, at least my toe nails look good- (even with the paint splatters on my feet)!

Goodbye "pa", he's growing up!
Yesterday evening was a landmark occasion. We had Bronson cut up all the pacifiers we could gather and throw them into the trash. All my kids have called their pacifer a "pa" which started from my 14 year old nephew when he was a baby. It stuck. Bronson kept saying, "I don't want to cut up my pa's yet, ...cuz the baby isn't born yet". In his mind he is not officially a big boy until the new baby arrives. We have lots of changes coming up, (changing beds/rooms, potty training, new baby, etc.), so I thought we could at least get one thing out of the way. As hard as it was for ME, it was time.
After the cutting ceremony, we went out for ice cream. His big brothers made it a very big deal for him, and he was very proud of himself! Although he kept talking last night when he was supposed to be falling asleep he finally did it! It was 9:15 (after 45 min. of laying there) and I hear him calling my name, AGAIN. I walk in and he starts talking as fast as he can, "mom, when I turn 16, then I can go skateboarding?...yeah, it's dark in here, ...and I sleep in a bed soon..." (he talks so well!) I go in and kneel down by his crib mattress which is temporarily on the floor (I am painting the crib white right now), I say, "yes little boy, now I know it's hard without your "pa", but you can do it. Turn over and go 'night night', k? Say 'goodnight' to me... I love you". I kiss his little soft cheek, AGAIN, and he says, "gu-night mom."
Today's nap was going to be the real tester,...but again, after asking for his "pa" and then remembering that we cut them up and threw them away, he finally settled down and fell asleep, but only left himself an hour before we had to leave to pick up the boys from school. It will take some getting used to. I may have been more sad (and very nervous) then he was. It's a big step in the life of a 2 1/2 year old and an even bigger one for the mom who has relied on that form of his comfort for his whole existence. Well, at least he still has his "blankie", and that is NOT going anywhere, not being thrown away or being cut up. I told him so.

Arrow of Light
Still trying to "get into" the scouting program here. Landon is now part of the 11 year old scouts and no longer a Cub Scout. The boy is growing up. He earned his Arrow of Light award before moving on and we were really proud of him. At pack meeting last month he was presented the award during the "campfire ceremony". The plaque earned was well worth the work- he'll keep it forever.
I have started to "nest" in the last week. I decided it's time to get some things hung on my walls- things that mean something to me and not just more of that metal crap,...or wood signs that have vinyl sayings on them. I have saved a few important walls for a few important things. After this comes painting a room, painting a crib and changing table, and some living room furniture after having an empty room for 2 years. We'll see how it all turns out. I know why the nesting stage happens during pregancy- cuz after this baby,...it's just back to trying to keep your head above water, (ie. feeding the kids, getting a shower, getting a nap where possible) for like 2 more years. About 7 weeks to go now...so excited!
Oh yeah, I have to add right here that on Thursday and Friday, I had a dream shopping trip with some very fun people. I never knew I could ever get sick of shopping. There were 8 ladies, a house in Park City, and Swiss Days. Mixing those all together gives you some very good shopping/talking therapy! (Swiss Days is a huge craft fair that happens every year in Midway. You can find everything there from home decor to baby clothes.) Before Swiss Days we hit Tai Pan (love that store!), Gateway Mall, and Cost Plus World Market. After Swiss Days we made it to the Park City outlets. I am all shopped out for a while. It was so good for me- and thank you to my awesome husband for holding down the fort for 2 full days. He did a great job, that guy of mine. Here are a few things I picked up at Tai Pan to get ready for the Fall/Halloween season. (Megan, I didn't buy the piece of furniture I saw while with you...wrong color. But, I did find THIS on sale!)
