Dear Landon,
For a boy that cried so much of the time when you were a baby, (you poor, colicky thing!)...you sure turned out to be a happy kid. You are always laughing, cracking jokes (that sometimes only you think are funny), quick to help out around the house, eager to please, cheerful, and a joy to be around. I truly cannot believe how quickly you flew through the years to this old age of 11! I wish you such a happy birthday, I look forward to your birthday breakfast in the morning, and I NEED you know how much you are loved!
I am dedicated to helping you enjoy every bit of your childhood, cause I realize that those years go by way too fast. Thank you for making me look like a fabulous mother even though I can't claim to have done a thing. Thank you for being the "guinea pig" of the family, the one I have to try and fail on before I figure it out. Thank you for your patience and kindness toward me, and how you express your gratitude and love to me. You really are an amazing little person, Landon. Happy Birthday, my sweet boy.

Getting Creative
Maybe he couldn't find the Mr. Potato Head and used his own. Maybe he was trying to cheer up the rest of the group. Maybe he was being too loud in the nursery at church and the nursery leader stuck that in his mouth to shut him up. I love my Bronson.

Lately...
Lately, it's all I can do to keep up. Here is a picture of me 5 months prego. The weight is piling on, and, ...my feet are swelling. My left foot looked like a stranger's the other day- very disturbing. I mean, what the?!?! I guess I AM "advanced maternal age", huh? It's hard to believe that I still have 4 more months to wait. We are going camping with the family in a couple of weeks to a beach in California. That should be a lot of fun to see how this body holds up there. Looking forward to a little more of Eric.
Things at home are overall going well despite the fact that too many people are breaking their backs and necks and taking my husband away from home. He is so busy and tired, ...but- I am enjoying the long summer days, having my boys home, trying to keep the home organized and the boys working and playing hard. I am so grateful for my family.
And as excited as I was about the yard, I am afraid that I am very burnt out from being so "excited". We waited so long to finally have them bring the sod that I stopped caring. I now have boundary issues...if I see another person in my yard, I think I will scream and cry out loud, (out the window at them) and scare them, ...and send them running for their lives. No more workers here. I am worn out from having to be here, "on deck" answering questions, making decisions. Here are some updates of the yard- the grass will get more green as it takes root. It's amazing that they just roll it out like carpet. I can't wait to see how time, additional plants and growth will add to the yard's beauty.
My mom, dad and I took the boys to the Hill Airforce Base Museum a couple days ago. I tried my very best to be interested and forced myself to like it. It's always worth it to me when I see that at least SOMEONE ELSE is loving an experience. In this case it was each of my kids- fascinated, totally. I liked seeing the jets taking off overhead before we went inside. That was incredible.
